FACELLATIONS explores the way in which human beings have consistently and persistently covered and tessellated almost every portion of the earth's surface. The artist was raised in a town of 650 people and lived in cities with progressively larger populations of 7,500, 100,000, 2 million, and the Tokyo metropolitan area of 36 million. Maps from this personal history along with freeform studies are marauded by uncountable faces squeezing, suffocating, devouring, and regurgitating each other in a way our cities must look like to Mother Nature.
